Common ways the calls fit together. Each step links to its reference, which lists every field with examples.

## Quote, then create and book

1. **Price it:** [`GetQuote`](/api) with the origin, destination, items and accessorials. You get the available
   rates for today.
2. **Create and book:** [`CreateRateOrBookLoad`](/api) with the same shipment details, plus the carrier (`scac`) you
chose. To create the load without booking it, use [`CreateLoad`](/api) instead.
3. **Track it:** [`GetLoadInfo`](/api) with the load id or your reference.

## Create now, book later

1. **Create:** [`CreateLoad`](/api). Keep the load id from the response.
2. **Update as details firm up:** [`UpdateLoad`](/api), or [`UpdateAndReRateLoad`](/api) when the change affects the
price (dates, locations, items or accessorials) and you want new rates.
3. **Book:** [`BookBestwayCarrier`](/api) with the load id, to book it with the best-value carrier.
4. **Track it:** [`GetLoadInfo`](/api).

## Keep your system in step

[`GetLoadInfo`](/api) takes any of load ids, your references, or statuses, and returns only loads on the accounts your
key's user can see. Use it to refresh status in your system rather than polling one load at a time.
